Scoold vs Askbot

Two open-source Q&A platforms compared. TL;DR: Both are open-source and great for Q&A; Scoold is much easier to set up, and offers a feature-rich solution with a modern user interface.

Scoold and Askbot are both open-source Q&A platforms designed to build community knowledge bases, but they differ in features and target use cases. Scoold is a lightweight Stack Overflow-style Q&A system, available under Apache 2.0 with optional paid "Pro" licenses. It can be self-hosted or deployed on Scoold Cloud.

Askbot, built on Django/Python, is licensed under GPLv3 and offers a traditional Q&A forum with karma, tagging, and moderation. It is also available for free self-hosting but a cloud hosting service also exists as an option.

Scoold offers a great alternative solution with advanced features and modern UI. Askbot is great for public forums and the Python code base allows for easy extensibility.
